Hawaii

Rock on, Rockabella

Upon my arrival in Hawaii, the first things on the brain were fashion and food. Recipes coming soon, but I just couldn’t wait to dish on all the beach brands and boutiques I’ve come across. The threads on the streets of Hawaii are drastically different from those in Boston or NYC (duh), and I’m ready to experiment with flowing fabric, earthy jewels, and beach waves.

Rockabella Jewels

Rockabella Jewels, one of the first brands I came across and fell in love with, describes themselves as “Contemporary Pacific jewelry for surf and city.” Their pieces are a playful combination of natural elements and fancy flourishes.

For example, this eye-catching shark tooth necklace is rugged, yet glam with the gold-dipped upper half. This is the perfect accessory for any beach girl or haute hippy.

The coordinate bar bracelet (also available with the bar on a woven fabric friendship bracelet, and also as a necklace or ring) allows you to choose the exact longitude and latitude of an important place you want with you at all times (a similar piece to Three Jane NY’s Map Necklace). The gold bar and chain links offer a clean and simple style while the font adds a vintage, nomadic element. This can be worn with stacks of bangles or alone for a much simpler and refined look.

The gold-dipped wood ring is the perfect example of one of my favorite combinations, rustic and royal. The deep tone of the wood ring paired with the gold dripping from the pointed top is stunning. This piece can be worn with just about anything – surf to city.

Each piece is handmade and made to order on the island of Maui. With their small collection, it’s easy to see that Rockabella puts time and care into each piece they make.Rock on Rockabella!
